Winnings! Winnings!! - Part 2: Guerlain Amazing Giveaway!!

Hello everybody, hope ya feeling fine!!!....hehehe...I'm too "egxcited". I never "hexpererit"....all these's only been God!!! Let me get to the details before I bore you with my
I reposted a giveaway organised by Guerlain Nigeria on Instagram and Facebook, while posting I also decided to enter this amazing giveaway. All you had to do was to describe your Ideal Man on the Sociotectonic blog (click here to view blog) and other social platforms, subscribe to the blog and wait to be announced as a winner....shikena!!! Maybe y'all were thinking that Guerlain as a luxury brand cannot do a giveaway or you were thinking...hmmmm...this is too good to be true.
Well, while you were still thinking, some of us entered the giveaway, I described my Mr. in a very amazing way on the blog and guess what?? The same day I was declared a winner for the Buntricia Global Competition, I was also declared a runner-up for the #IdealMan Guerlain contest...whoop! Whoop!!.
I went to collect my goodies today...Chai!!! I really wish y'all entered, so you can enjoy the benefits of getting this amazing, luxury French brand's goodies for free and I also got the opportunity to test their full makeup line...*dancing alingo*
See pictures of my experience, my goodies and detailed description of my favourite makeup products after the cut.

Meet the gorgeous Guerlain representative....Vivenne!!...she was soo nice and warm towards me. When she saw me...the first thing she said was, "you look like you would love our makeup line"...she later told me that she made that statement because my brows were other words...BROWS ON FLEEK!!! *flips hair*

Just look at this makeup counter....*lovestruck*...I wish I could drag it along with me to my house...lmaooo

My Favourite makeup prodcuts

Ecrin 4 couleurs Ombres Longue Tenue - Long lasting Eyeshadows
The first thing I laid my hands upon was their 4-in-1 eyeshadow palette. Oh Lord!! the pigments are from Heaven, and the blendability is out of this world. I swatched the peach colour and even on the back of my hand, it looked soo vibrant. I wish I took a picture of the swatches....

Crayon Yeux - Eyeliner and Kohl
Just beside the shadows, you can see the liquid eyeliners (they are so big, they look like witch's portion...looool...the french and their vintage designs...I love!!) and you can also see they kohl pencils.

These babies attracted my attention next, their amazing mascaras. They have 3 types as listed and described below:
Mascara Createur de Volume - Volume Creating mascara
This is the first mascara (from the top) in the picture. It has the widest brush. Amazing for adding volume and curl to you lashes.
Mascara Complete d'Exception - Exceptional Complete Mascara
I absolute love the packaging of this particular mascara, and it's REFILLABLE!!! The bristles on the brush are small and fantastic in adding length to your lashes. It also works for volume, curl and care for your eyelashes.
Mascara Deux Brosses Regard 360degs - Two brush Mascara 360 degs lashes
This particular mascara is my absolute favourite. It's a 2-in-1 mascara having brushes for upper and lower lashes. Amazing for length and definition.
Tenue De Perfection - Long Lasting Perfection
First thing I noticed about this foundation was that they didn't have darker colours, but the lady promised me that by January, they would have more shades for darker ladies....yaaayyyy!!!
Then I decided to swatch the foundation, it has a very lovely velvet feel and to my utmost surprise, the colour I thought was too light for me, blended perfectly with my skin tone....Super Duper Amazing!!!! And it was sooo light (in weight) on the skin...meaning it would not feel heavy on the face and the coverage?? Amazing!!!...oh I'm soo getting this!!!
Did I also mention that this foundation is other would work perfectly for oily skin!!!....
I would love to call this a luxury version of the Revlon Colorstay Foundation (if you've used Revlon Colorstay, you would understand what I'm talking about!!)
Dear 2015 brides, you are in for an amazing ride with Eeda's Atelier *winks*

Meteorites Perles - light diffusing primer
Sorry I forgot to take a picture of this primer. It is a plant based mattifying primer which implies that it is fantastic for oily skin and because of its ingredients, it can help reduce acne.

L'or - Essence d'Eclat à l'or Pur (primer with 24karat pure gold)
This french people Ehn, 24 KARAT GOLD suspended in a mattifying primer!!!! doesn't get better than this!!! And guess what!! It was in my giveaway bag!!! *dancing shoki*.
The radiance is super amazing, and it dries matte....can't wait to try this under my makeup...

Straying a mum, when she saw this primer, said that I would have told them to gather all the gold in it and make it into a nice earring....lmaaoooo!!! The woman loves gold jewelleries too much.

Terracotta 4 Seasons: Poudre Bronzante Sur Mesure - Tailor-made bronzing powder (top picture)
It's a 4-in-1 powder which makes it more you have lighter and darker shades. This powder can be worn alone to give a gorgeous glow and the lighter colours would make a fantastic highlighter for extra glow on the cheeks, bridge of the nose and around the neck. Fantastic for bridal makeup.
Terracotta Poudre Bronzante Hydrante - Moisturizing bronzing powder (bottom picture)
I would call this their normal face powder, though it's called a bronzing powder (the one above is more of a bronzing powder). I have a feeling it would just give a light-bronzed finish but I highly doubt it will be soo bronzy. The swatch I did was more of powdery than bronzy, but I really love that the powder is light on the skin with a buildable coverage. The finish, amazing!!! and it's a moisturising powder. They also have dark colours for ladies with darker skintones like me...whoop!

Rouge G De Guerlain • L'extrait Creme de rouge Intense et Mate - Matte lipstick
The most beautiful part of this lipstick to me is the packaging, it comes in a silver case with Guerlain imprinted on it (as seen on the left of the board)...looks like a bag I didn't get to swatch this but I'm definitely going to get some and give reviews.

Rouge G De Guerlain - Exceptional complete lip colour
These are their Creme lipsticks, I also didn't get to swatch these but I will definitely be getting some and I will be giving reviews.

My Goodies
I got a couple of goodies from Guerlain, I have mentioned one above...the primer with 24-karat gold. I also got some others as shown below..

           The goody bag.

Content of the goody bag: A Guerlain Leather Laptop Case, A leather purse filled with extra goodies, 24karat Gold Primer and Guerlain La Petite Robe Frangrance (100ml)

Guerlain La Petite Rouge - 100 ml.
This baby right here came at the perfect time, just when my Tom Ford - Voilet blonde was finishing and my birthday is approaching!!!! Wouldn't it be appropriate for me to say that Guerlain gave me an early present...whoop!
Let me give you the review of this Frangrance in one sentence (for those that don't know it)...I sprayed on this fragrance yesterday evening (on the two sides of my neck)...after a night bath...and wonderful night rest, I woke up this morning and I can still smell the floral base note on my skin. Lovely, long lasting, show stopping, head turning Frangrance....*so go get yours...NOW!!!*

L'or - 24 Karat gold radiating primer (check review above - you can already see the gold inside the bottle)

The extra goodies in my Guerlain leather purse: La petite robe velvet body milk for glamorous skin, Gloss D'enfer - New maxi shine lip gloss and Guerlain super Aqua Eye Serum.

Beautiful leather laptop pouch from Guerlain

Me, trying to force my Mac book Pro into this gorgeous leather pouch...failed attempt...*hot tears*

My mum's Mac book Air sliding in sooo easily into the pouch...bottom mum took the pouch...:(.....I should have taken a picture of her evil smile when it didn't fit my laptop...lmaoooo

Thank you Guerlain, thank you Vivenne, thank you Uche (the makeup lady) and thank you Oma of Sociotectonic blog...I have had a swell time with y'all.

Note to Readers:
Even if you may feel it's a luxury brand and it may be expensive, (Not soo pricey to my utmost suprise) just give them a visit and I would just advice that you thank me later with their powder or the 2-in-1 mascara....Looool, its worth every single naira.
You can visit their stand at Essenza, Ikeja City Mall (Shoprite) or at The Palms, Lekki.

Winning! Winnings!! Advancements!!!

Hi Everyone, sigh...I know...I know...I have abandoned this blog for too long. There was and is a lot going on in my life at the moment. It's both exhausting and exciting...the emotions could overwhelm me sometimes, and I still have sooo much I am working on, so please bare with me. Don't worry, I also can't wait to share a lot of good news starting from this one *dancing shoki*.....
So this good news, sigh, where do I even start from...ok....lemme start...I entered a global makeup competition in September, its called Buntricia Global Makeup Competition where over 80 makeup artists from different countries entered and I was one of them.
In the competition, there were two stages. I had to get people to vote for me  via a website and I really appreciate all the people that casted their votes (everyday!), got their friends to vote too and also those that hijacked their mum's, dad's, sisters', brothers', work colleagues' phones just to vote and get me to the second stage...I really appreciate you all...God bless you :*:*
The first stage lasted for one month and it was the longest month of my life (I must really wanted it to end quickly) because I had to keep reminding people to vote everyday...Hardword and Consistency truly pays!!!.

This was my entry for the first stage

You already know right!!! I got to the second stage..whoop!! *backflips*...hehehe!!

So the next stage, we were supposed to be shortlisted to 25 but in Buntricia's generosity, we were shortlisted to 41....Good for them but horrible for me because it means that there are more people to compete with *bites finger* head is too strong them though...hehehe...

This was the inspiration given for the second stage, and as you can see the contest ran for about 2 weeks plus. We had to draw inspiration from this look, photograph it professionally, then the 2 entries with the highest likes win an all expensive paid trip to Buntricia's Hands on Skills International Makeup Conference in London (All expense PAID!!!!)...chai....the greatest makeup awoof!!
Then I started thinking, what can I do to make my image stand out but still be in line with the inspiration *scratches head*

How I came about this makeup.
I really wanted something that would stand out from others and easily recognisable. Since buntricia said we didn't have to replicate the inspiration image, I decided to draw some inspiration.
- I used the "cut crease" concept from the inspiration (only makeup artists and lovers would understand this)
- I used the yellow/orange/red colour block from the inspiration on my model's brow bone.
Then, I finished it off with "crack skin" makeup and body paint in gold, also sprayed on some body glitter.

The Concept of this Makeup Art:
I did the inspiration look on the eyes using the cut crease and colour block. While doing the face, all of a sudden her skin began to crack mysteriously into gold, spreading down her shoulders to her body. Then I realised...She was becoming a "Golden Lady"....looool
A friend of mine said I watch too much vampire and scary movies....lmfaoooo...what do you think?? (Comments below).

Back to the competition.....
My image was uploaded on Instagram, did I mention that only two entries with the highest likes would emerge as winners *cleans sweat* loving friends reposted the image on their pages, tagged their friends, sooo much support from left, right and center...some of my friends even gave me their Instagram password so I can use their pages to like as well.
Along the line in the competition, people started cheating (they were buying likes)'s one of the most frustrating thing that can happen to anyone in a competition (whatever happened to fair competing) and the organiser of the competition didn't quickly notice the cheats...(she did eventually though and it was settled).
I told a couple of friends about the cheating because I really got tired and they all told me not to give up. I gathered courage and  kept tagging in the day, night and midnight, at some point I started tagging even strangers. The struggle was real yo!!! I became a ghost in my house...lmao and I'm glad they understood. The two weeks felt like two solid years, my fingers started crinkle from typing and tagging (lol)...
And the winners are......(ahh shoki, shoki...ahhh shoki, shoki)

I freaking won!!!! Whoop! Whoop!!! friend, Kosiso(3rd picture) also emerged as a winner. We can't even count how many times we texted each other to give words of encouragement during this competition (women empowering women)....And Buntricia was soo nice again to select three (3) winners.
We would be in London by God's grace in May, 2015....can't wait to be would be my first certification as a Professional Makeup Artist as I have been freelancing since April, 2013.

Closing remark....
My makeup journey has been both intriguing and many ups and downs, few "friends" tried to bring me down while others and a lot of strangers kept me going. This amazing journey is just starting, and I don't think it's going to end as long as God lives.....

Thank you all once again....PS: I have chocolates from London for everyone that help me with this competition...*covers face* and I would definitely be hosting a giveaway soon as I reached my first instagram milestone of 1000 followers.....

Face beat for my Sister!!!

Hi everyone, hope y'all enjoyed the nice and overly extended weekend (overly extended because business has been on hold for two I definitely had enough rest for the next few working days, I hope you did too :).
As part of my rest, I did some makeup jobs and my kid sis also 'begged' me to shape her eyebrows (yes I laid emphasis on "beg" cos she doesn't like from shapening her brows I decided to just give her a complete makeover (perks of being the sister to a Makeup
Although she slept almost throughout the time, the final look was beyond Ah-May-Zing!!!! and as a result I did this tutorial based on demand :D
Let the pictures speak for themselves :) (see pictures and products used after the cut).

Finished look!!!! <3....I'm sure you are thinking "bright pink" on "dark skin"...Yes it can work :D

The initial plan was for me to help her shape her brows...and that's what you can see here :) (went from bushy to clean with nice arcs)

                        After <3<3

                      Side view :)

Closer view of her face featuring the lovely glittered eyes, bright pink lips and nice highlight and contour.

Step by Step detailed application of the look

- Using a spoolie/brow brush, I brushed all the hair on her brows upward, then I used a makeup scissors to trim off all the hairs that were outside her natural brow shape.
- then, I brushed all the hairs downward and repeated the process above
- Her brows were really bushy, so I tried to locate her brow bone and using a new razor (I used tiger razor), I removed all of the hair on the brow me a good arc to start with
- Then I gradually shaped out the remaining part of her brows following her natural brow shape.
Ps: I kinda reduced the fullness of her brows a little but please note that when you're working on clients, reducing the fullness of their brows should completely be at their discretion.
- I used jordana pencil in "dark brown" to outline the upper and lower part of her brows and I used jordana retractable pencil in "brown suede" to fill in the brows.
- Using a spoolie, I brushed everything into shape.
- I defined her brows with graftobian hd creme foundation in "Pecan" for the under of her brows and "Sienna" for the upper part of her brows using the elf concealer brush (comes with the 11 pcs elf brush set).

- I used "shadow shields" in this application because I was going to be dealing with a lot of glitter which I didn't want to fall all over her face.
- Then i primed her eyes with nyx jumbo pencil in "milk" which also served as the eyeshadow base.

- As shown in the picture above, using my urban decay eyeshadow brush, I applied the bright pink eyeshadow from my bhcosmetics day and night palette all over the lid and to the inner corner.
- then I used the matte black colour in the same palette to create a bold and dramatic outer-V.
- Using a clean flat shadow brush, I applied medusa makeup glitter in "material girl" by dabbing on the glitter little by little all over the lid.
- Using a precision brush, I applied medusa makeup glitter in "star struck" to the inner corners of her eyes.
(This particular glitter is a voilet iridescence glitter, it kinda reflects the colour of the shadow and adds a nice voilet effect...I honestly don't know how to the glitter is whitish in colour, I will probably just swatch all the medusa makeup glitters I have soon).
I found the above picture of the star struck glitter online...not soo clear but it will give you an idea pending the time I swatch them.
I'm actually giving this explanation on the glitter because I applied some of the pink colour to the inner corners of her eyes and when I applied this glitter on top, I expected it to be white/silver and shimmery but alas, it gave a purplish very gorge shimmery look as shown below.
Although I have applied this same glitter on top of a nude eyeshadow before and it just reflected the nude and gave the eyelook a gorgeous soft shimmer.
Ok enough on this they would soon be available for sale, so watch this space...hehe!!
- In her crease, I used the bdellium tools blending brush "776" to apply a soft brown eyeshadow from my coastal scents 42 stack palette. I also blended out the eyeshadows
- then I applied a mixture of the beige colour as seen in the bhcosmetics palette picture above and MAC's rice paper to her brow bone.
- I lined her lid with BmPro pen liner
- I applied maybelline colossal Kajal to her water line and I smudged it with a teal eyeshadow (I really can't remember the palette I got the teal eyeshadow from x_x)
- I used red cherry lashes "523" that I purchased from yanga beauty website as her false lashes applied with duo lash glue.

- I primed her face with MAC matte which is a silicon based primed and I applied this with my fingers.
- Using the elf powder brush (it has a flat top and comes with the 11 pcs brush set), I applied a mixture of Revlon colorstay cappuccino and graftobian hd creme foundation in "Hazelnut" to the centre of her face (the lighter regions) and just the graftobian hd creme foundation in "Hazelnut" to the outer parts of her face (the darker regions).
- Then I used sigma foundation brush "F40" to apply graftobian hd creme foundation in "Pecan" as highlight under her eyes, chin, bridge of her nose and forehead. (The foundation is 2 shades lighter than her skin tone)
- Then I used a small flat brush to apply a mixture of graftobian hd creme foundation in "Hidden Magic" and "Nightfall" as contour under her cheek bones, sides of her nose, temples, hairline and jawline (the brush came with my coastal scents eyeshadow but is useless as an eyeshadow brush). The contour colour mix is one/two shades darker than her skin tone...this may vary according to skin colour or preference.
- I blended out the highlight and contour with a beauty blender sponge starting from the lighter areas.
- I set the highlight with a mixture of Ben Nye "neutral set" luxury powder and Ben Nye translucent powder in "Sienna" and I set her contour with the Sleek contour kit in "dark".
- I let the highlight and contour sit for about 3 mins then I blended it out with my elf complexion brush.
- I used my elf blush brush to apply the first pink colour from the Sleek by 3 blush palette in "Pink Sprint" just on the cheek bone sweeping it upward to her hairline.
- I used the same blush brush to add MAC's mineral skinfinish in dark under her eyes for additional highlight and I used bdellium tools brush 785 to apply the same to the bridge of her nose also for extra highlight. Then, I also used the elf's eyeshadow 'C' brush to add additional contour to the sides of her nose and the elf blush brush to add additional contour to under her cheek bone.
PS: you can tell from my method of makeup application that I improvise a lot, using creme foundations as concealers, different brushes for various functions etc, it's just to tell you that there are no specific rules in makeup (which is contrary to what most MUAs preach), makeup is art, so express yourself in whatever way you can :)

- I lined her lips with House of Tara (HOT) lip liner "Takuere" and applied HOT's lipstick in Katangora.
- I cleaned up the excess lipstick with foundation to create nice defined pink lips.

That's all everyone, if you would love to recreate this look, you don't have to look for the exact products I used, just find alternatives that are available to you and Improvise! Improvise!! Improvise!!!.....
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and I hope you found this post interesting. Most of the products used would soon be available for sale, so watch this space :).
Have a lovely week and stay blessed.

Orange Crush!!! + Brow tutorial

Hello everyone, happy new month, may this month bring you everything you desire in your heart...Amen!!!
I've been dreaming of this orange look for soo long but I have been battling with laziness and I've even given the look different names..."courage orange"..."orange is the new black"...etc...lmao but I finally settled with Orange crush for reasons unknown to
Also with this post, I have decided to share a brow "blogorial"...yes I formed the English...lmao...since there's pictorial (use of pictures)...I'm using my blog to explain sooo BLOGORIAL....hehehe!!!
Pictures and blogorial after the cut.

        Orange Crush!!! <3 <3 <3

To get very nicely defined brows, I used my makeup scissors to first trim excesses, then I used a razor blade to create a proper shape that would be easy for me to follow and also suits my natural brow shape.

Then I outlined my brows with a dark brown pencil (this one is jordana pencil in "06 dark brown"). Notice that I extended the line a bit at the beginning.
I filled in the inner parts with a reddish brown pencil (this one is jordana easy liner retractable pencil in "brown suede"). I actually learnt this method from the CEO of BMPro, Mrs Banke Meshida Lawal and I have adopted the method because I realised that it gives a soft/warm brow look as opposed to the usual thick dark brown brow look.
Notice that I did not fill the extended part.
I used my spoolie/spooly/brow-brush to brush and blend out the brows starting from the extended part (the importance of the extended part is that it kind of gives a fading effect to the begining of the brows and makes it look more natural)
You will need a concealer brush (mine is from elf) and any concealer that is 1 or 2 shades lighter than your skin tone (this one is MAC select cover up in NW 45....I'm not a huge fan of MAC but I'm stuck with this till I get my LA pro concealers :(...)
Using the concealer, I cleaned up and defined the top and under part of my brows giving me this nice shape. Please note that I was blending out the concealer even while defining (blending is key in everything).
If you're still not satisfied with the blending, you can use your fingers to blend it out a little more like I did here
If you don't have a brow gel (like me x_x) can use tweezers to pick out any stray hair around the brows so that you brows would be properly defined.
Voila!!!!! Finished brows...gorge look. Now let's go over to the look of the day.
It sooo nice to see orange look so flattering on dark skin...who says orange does not suit any skin tone...I'm in crush <3 btw I have like three huge scarfs on...head hurts like cray...but the look has to be complete x_x
I used my Margaret Ekpo palette again as shown above and the makeup was applied with the same procedure as seen in my previous post titled "doll face...pinky!!"
I look soooo nose contour is screaming :D :D...No I wasn't going's my camera I hung on my
       Tongue out :p...Blending is Key!!!!
                    Who's there :|
          Smiles and Dimple (Side view)
Look into my eyes and tell me wat you see...."I see some orange on my lower lid ;) ;)"
To achieve my orange lips, I lined with a brown pencil (close to my skin tone), then I applied milani cosmetics lipstick in "sweet nectar" and applied sleek makeup pout paint in "lava" on top of the lipstick :*
So you don't like me....but I love and my wierd faces...ok lemme leave you with this one. I love you all and have a beautiful week xxxxx
